Happy Cinco de Mayo, my friends! In honor of the holiday, I've got an extra free crochet pattern for you this week: mini sombreros. Attach them to a key chain, make a string of them into a bunting, or use them as table decorations at your next fiesta.

These little hats are super simple and quick to make. Want to whip some up for your celebration tonight? You have plenty of time.

Materials:
- small amount of worsted weight yarn (I used Vanna's choice in Beige) for the hat
- tiny amounts of contrasting yarn in red and blue
- H Crochet Hook
- Tapestry needle

Pattern Notes:
- You will be working in spiral. There are no slip stitches or chains at the ends of the rounds.
- You may want to mark the first stitch of each round so you don't lose your spot.

Embroidery:
Using colorful yarn and a tapestry needle, make French knots around the hat. If you're not sure how to make French knots, here's a great tutorial.

Sombrero Bunting

If you'd like to make your sombreros into a bunting, it's super simple. Just grab some white yarn. Chain 35, then attach your first hat using a sc. You can fiddle around with the number of chains between each hat, but I used 20. After you've gotten all your hats attached, chain 35. Hang it up and enjoy!
