Granny Heart Crochet Pattern {Daisy in the Center}

This granny heart crochet pattern has a twist - a beautiful daisy in the center. Perfect for use as a crochet dishcloth or a beautiful bunting, it's sure to brighten up any room.

Since spring is now in full swing, I'm pretty sure that spring cleaning is supposed to be finished. It hasn't even started around my house - hopefully this coming week. Last night, I whipped up this adorable granny heart dishcloth in hopes of getting myself motivated. Cute cleaning supplies are always helpful, aren't they?

These dishcloths are quick and adorable. They're great for your own kitchen, and they'd also make fantastic gifts. With Mother's Day just around the corner, you still have time to make a set of these (check out this list of 25 Mother's Day Ideas, too).

Materials:
- small amounts of worsted weight yarn
- H Crochet Hook

Pattern Notes:

Size: Heart measures approximately 7" tall.

Starting Triple Crochet Cluster (STCC): ch 3, wrap yarn around hook twice. Insert hook into a dc from the previous round. Pull up a loop; yarn over, pull through 2 loops; yarn over, pull through two loops. There should be 2 loops remaining on your hook. Yarn over twice, insert hook into the SAME stitch; pull up a loop; yarn over, pull through 2 loops; yarn over, pull through 2 loops. There should now be 3 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all loops.

Triple Crochet Cluster (TCC): Wrap yarn around hook twice. Yarn over twice, insert hook into the SAME stitch. Pull up a loop; yarn over, pull through 2 loops; yarn over, pull through 2 loops; There should now be 4 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all loops.

Half Treble Crochet (HTC): Bunny Mummy's pattern calls for half treble crochets. Here's how you do those: Wrap yarn around hook twice. Insert hook into a stitch on the previous round. Pull up a loop. yarn over, pull through 2 loops. You should now have 3 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all three loops.

This granny heart crochet pattern has a twist - a beautiful daisy in the center. Perfect for use as a crochet dishcloth or a beautiful bunting, it's sure to brighten up any room.

Now that we've got all that out of the way, we're ready to get started.

Daisy Center:
ch 3.
Round 1: 12 dc into the first ch. Sl st to the top of the first dc (not the chains). Cut yarn and weave ends. (12)
Round 2: ch 3, STCC in the same stitch, ch 2. *TCC in the next stitch, ch 2* around. Sl st to the top of the STCC. Cut yarn and weave ends. (12 clusters and 12 ch 2 spaces made)

Have your daisy ready? Great! Now head on over to this post from Bunny Mummy to make the granny heart portion of the dishcloth - the directions begin about halfway through the post. At the end, don't sl st. Just come back over here and do the final round.

Final Round.
sc in the first 5 stitches, 2 sc in the next stitch, *sc in the next 2 stitches, 2 sc in the next stitch* two more times. Sc in the next 24 stitches (this includes the ch 1 spaces). At the bottom of the heart, sc, ch 2, sc. Sc in the next 24 stitches. 2 sc in the next stitch, *sc in the next 2 stitches, 2 sc in the next stitch* two more times. Sc in the next 5 stitches. Sl st to the first sc. Cut yarn and weave ends.

Now, make a few more as dishcloths or string them together as a beautiful bunting.

  11. I saw this and cried....literally. My grandmother taught me to crochet and daisies were our thing....and hearts... In everything I've ever done from blogs, to photos to artwork tags for knitted and crocheted projects there is a heart somewhere worked in. My grandmother also told me I had my mothers heart (she passed when I was 11). I'll be 50 this July and in the last 10 years since my grandmothers passing I've been hunting for just the right pattern, thing, inspiration to create something special a lil legacy for my own granddaughter that represented the wonderful women before her. THIS is IT! Now I too am wondering how I might incorporated into a square or find a beautiful way to join each heart to create an afghan. I'd love any insight you might have.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this pattern. It seems so silly so simple ....but for me it is heartfelt perfection and I'm forever greatful.

  14. Hi! For some reason I can't find what size hook you used. I'm anxious to get started. THANKS!

  15. It's a beautiful heart, but I couldn't get that last round. I couldn't work out which was my starting stitch or even work out where some of the 2sc were meant to be to sort of work it out myself. I couldn't enlarge the picture enough either to see and try and work out from there, so have abandoned the last round.

  16. This is adorable! Well done. Hearts are not the easiest shape to perfect when crocheting. I can hardly wait to try this one. Thank you my DMIL will love getting one of these!

  18. Can anyone please help me. It says To chain 3 and 12 double crochet in 1st chain. Do you join the circle and then do 12 double crochet in circle or is it 1st chain on bottom or 1st chain closest to hook? I am confused =(
