Easy Pom Pom Monogram {Fun Kids Craft}

Easy Pom Pom Monograms by Daisy Cottage Designs

We have been so busy around our house that we haven't had much time for crafts lately. Riley loves them so I've been meaning to put more on the schedule (but we all know how that tends to go). I purchased these fun pom poms and wooden letters from Hobby Lobby last month, with promises of doing something fun with them. Unfortunately, we just got around to it today.

Riley and Caroline enjoyed playing with the different sized pom poms even more than they did making the craft. Believe it or not, it took us quite a while to pick up the pom poms from around the house when we were finished.

Pom Pom Letters Kids Craft

If you and your kiddos want to make some of this simple kids craft, it's super quick and easy!

Materials:
- Tacky Glue (a hot glue gun is an alternative... obviously, please supervise children!!!)
- butcher paper to protect your table or floor
- eager children to throw said pom poms all over your house

Directions:
Step 1: Spread butcher paper on top of your table or on your floor. While Tacky Glue isn't tough to clean up, you don't want to get it on your brand new dining room table or hardwood floors.
Step 2: Put glue on your letter a little bit at a time. Have child place pom poms on making sure they're very close together.
Step 3: Fill in any gaps with extra pom poms so you can't see any wood. I helped Riley with this step to avoid getting glue all over her little fingers.
Step 4: Let your monogram dry and then proudly display it in your child's bedroom or playroom.

If you're doing this craft for your child's bedroom, I would use hot glue. It dries almost instantly and just makes the entire process shorter.

If at the end of this process you have tons of pom poms left over, there are many crafts and learning activities that can be done. Use them to reinforce your toddler's colors, let your preschooler sort them by size, and use them as manipulatives while you're first grader is doing her math homework.
