Preschool at Home {Down on the Farm}

preschool cow project 2

We've been down on the farm in our preschool adventures lately. We haven't been doing many crafts, but we've been talking about what animals live on the farm, sorting, and working on letters and sounds. We've been focusing on three letters at a time (this week it's been M, K, and R). I don't have a certain order I'm going in right now. We have some adorable flashcards we purchased from Pretty Little Studio on Etsy and Riley loves them. I let her select the letters she wanted to work on hoping she would be extra motivated. It seems to be working pretty well.

It's amazing to see how much a little brain can soak up. Sometimes I will hear her telling her babies things we've talked about throughout the day. It helps keep me motivated to know that Riley's retaining at least a little bit of what I'm teaching her.

We did do one fun craft this week. This little cow was a big hit with Riley (and Daddy and Papa thought it was super cute, too). I found the idea on Pinterest, but couldn't find specific instructions so we improvised. We used this image as a template, traced and cut out all the pieces, and glued them to a piece of black construction paper. To brighten it up a little bit, we added green tissue paper for grass.  Riley wanted to add glitter, but I finally talked her out of that. Our cute little cow is now proudly displayed in the girls' playroom

  3. These photos are so great! It looks like Riley really enjoys learning. That's so awesome that you do preschool at home, and so great that you can see results when she tells her babies stuff she's learned. How rewarding!
