Enjoying the Little Things

IMG_4177

In an attempt to simplify life and focus on what really matters, I've been trying to use my time wisely. I deactivated my facebook account, written things in notebooks and on calendars, set reminders on my phone, and printed out charts and graphs in an attempt to get my priorities in order. To help manage my time better, I've decided to merge my personal blog with this one. I know some of you probably aren't too interested in what's going on in the lives of my kiddos. That's fine - don't read those posts. Others of you might not be interested in crochet patterns or DIY stuff. That's okay, too. You can just read about our little family. If it doesn't work, no harm done. I can go back to the old way.

While we enjoy a good marriage and are definitely happier than most couples I know, it's always a good thing to work on a relationship. A week ago today, my sweet husband brought me home beautiful roses in my favorite color (yellow with pinkish tips). Riley calls them "rosies."

This little bag made Riley so happy. Generally, I'm too busy to crochet items for her. This wasn't intended for her, but she attached herself to it and I couldn't ask her to give it up after she'd stuffed it with her little treasures (thing cupcakes and spoons from her kitchen). The pattern for this tote is being tested right now and will be available on the blog very soon.

There's not much that makes a mom happier than moments like these. Riley enjoys here baby sister more than I could have hoped and Caroline is happy to watch her for long stretches of time. I know they will enjoy each other more and more as the months pass - wouldn't it be nice if these happy moments last and the sibling rivalry never begins. We're not holding our breath.

    1. Thanks... So often we get caught in things that really don't matter, don't we?? I'm really working on that in my life at the moment.
