Most of you probably know, my husband and I have a 14 month old daughter. Little Riley is a bundle of energy and happiness and we couldn't be any more blessed. People had told us over and over again how much fun it would be to have a baby and we believed them - it's been even better than they said.

I think having a bald baby girl might be what inspired my love for making headbands. If you take a look at the thousands of pictures we've taken in her short little life, you'd be almost certain to notice one thing. Riley's head is rarely "naked." An outfit isn't complete without what my mom (pictured with Riley above) has dubbed "head candy"! I would be embarrassed to tell you how many headbands and bows this little chickadee has floating around her bedroom and bathroom (Who are we kidding? They're often found the diaper bag and car, too!). If for some reason Riley makes it out of the house without one, there's someone asking about it.
Well, I just want to tell you, last week brought the arrival of a very exciting day! Our little 1 year old finally has enough hair to wear a bow. That's right, a bow. Without a headband. I thought this day would never come. As soon as I figured this out, I headed to my craft table, and whipped up some tiny hair bows inspired by
this tutorial. Not only that, but we headed outside for a mini photo shoot, of sorts. I'm no photographer, but here's documentation of the event. Looking at these pictures makes me a little bit sad. The little bow on the side makes her look a little bit too grown up.
Check back soon because I'm going to give a no-tie, no-sew tutorial of how to make the bow that Riley's wearing in the following pictures.
Good Morning, Lauren,
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet face. It is really fun having a daughter, isn't it?! Mine are now 26 and 22...and I still love every minute that I spend with them.
Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful holiday weekend. ~Natalie
