just a little reminder

Granny Square Baby Lovie 1

Sometimes I assume things go without saying. This week, someone posted on my facebook page informing me that someone else was using my photos to sell their work. Honestly a misunderstanding, the issue was resolved immediately. It just reminded me that I should probably say this: You're welcome to sell items you've made from the free patterns I offer on this blog. There are just two requirements.
  1. Provide a link so other crocheters can give the patterns a try if they're so inclined.
  2. Take your own pictures.
Believe it or not, sometimes getting a good photo is more difficult than making the actual item, especially when kiddos are involved. When I first opened my Etsy shop, I spent a great deal of time researching how to take good photos - what settings to use, etc. My photos certainly aren't professional, but they're much better than when I started. My best suggestion for you is to use natural light. This makes a huge difference. Photos with flash simply don't show the item nearly as well. We have a Florida room that's perfect for taking photos of my kids and my crochet projects.

Thanks for bearing with me. Also, I'd love to see the finished projects so be sure to come back and share your links!

Also, happy 4th of July from my little family. Hope you've had a fantastic day.
