My Sad Hydrangea & Etsy Treasury

A couple years ago, my sister-in-law helped me plant some flowers in our yard. One of the plants I was most excited about was the bright pink hydrangea. The first year,  vivacious new blooms welcomed me every time I pulled into the driveway. Since then, the poor thing's ability to blossom has only gone down hill. Florida winters certainly aren't anything to write home about (unless, of course, you're trying to make dear Aunt Mildred from Minnesota jealous that you're enjoying 70s and sunshine in January), but the occasional frost has taken a toll on my poor hydrangea bush. Each year, I think that I'll have to pull it out after the last frost, but it always comes back. The leaves will look beautiful by the end of the spring but there's only one bloom each year. That's right, one.

To get my fix of beautiful blooms, and to see what I wish my hydrangea looked like, I decided to peruse Etsy for beautiful hydrangea-inspired items. It was very difficult to narrow my finds to 16, but here's what I came up with. From pillow to hair clip, bouquet to wreath, all of these items reminded me of the way I had hoped my pathetic little hydrangea would look when I purchased it. I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I did.

I have to admit that one of these items got me thinking more than the others. Medori Designs' Bouquet of Peonies had me wishing my husband and I could plan our wedding all over again. It also got me thinking about a set of colors that would go well with her bouquet. I'm by no means a wedding coordinator or fashion consultant, but I've thought about using colors inspired by this bouquet in future items for my shop.

how I wish my product photos were all this good
